'The Herd' Intergenerational Learning Centre

‘The Herd’ Intergenerational Learning Center clients, Anna and Fiona Gulmac, came to Wurl Architects with a fresh vision of connecting an existing aged care center with an early childhood (0-5 years) facility.

The design sees existing buildings (owned by Uniting Care), redesigned to meet the needs of an early childhood education and care setting. Connection to the aged care facility, achieved through a new extension, completes the design. Since its opening in 2023, ‘The Herd’ has been the face of a contemporary approach to care - enabling intergenerational interaction through intelligently designed facilities.
